Pastor Larry Griffin
Pastor Griffin and his wife Debi Griffin moved into the Sugar Mill area in Homosassa, FL in July of 2022 after living for 15 months in Tallahassee, FL and the previous 42 years in frigid Minnesota.
Larry graduated from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1976, and from Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1980. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Concordia Theological Seminary in 1995. He served as Sole Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran in Lewiston, MN (1980-1990), as Senior Pastor at Trinity Lutheran in Janesville, MN (1990 – 2019), as Intentional Interim Ministry at St. Paul Lutheran in Waseca, MN (2019-2021), as Intentional Interim Pastor at Epiphany Lutheran in Tallahassee, FL (2021-2022), and as Intentional Interim Pastor at Faith Lutheran in Lecanto, FL (2022-2023). He also served on the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod’s Minnesota South Board of Directors and as one of the Vice Presidents for over 20 years.
Pastor Griffin is a country boy, raised on a North Dakota farm where his dad raised beef cattle.
Debi Griffin is a city girl raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She retired in 2017 after teaching preschool for 23 years and working in retail management for 20 years.
They met and were married at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota, in May of 1974.
Pastor Griffin and Debi have been blessed by God with two sons, two daughters, and 16 grandchildren. Their children and families live in Janesville, MN, Lewiston, MN, Bradenton, FL, and Knoxville, TN.
They enjoy golfing, playing tennis, playing cards, and walking their neighborhood with their Goldendoodle “Gabbie.” They are also NFL football fans, but live in house divided – Vikings vs. Packers.
